Welcome to Glasgow! Upon arrival, transfer to the city for a guided panoramic tour of Glasgow and see the iconic Glasgow Cathedral and many other landmarks. Stop for photos at Loch Lomond & Devil’s Pulpit on the way to Oban. The “Gateway to the Isles” is a picturesque coastal town known for its seafood, Victorian architecture, and ferry links to the Hebrides. Overlooking the bay, McCaig’s Tower offers stunning panoramic views, while nearby attractions include castles, whisky distilleries, and rugged coastal scenery.  D

This morning, visit the Oban Distillery. Hugh and John Stevenson opened the Oban Brewing Company in 1793. “Cowbell Ale” was their first production. The following year, they started distilling whisky. Later, transfer to Culloden Battlefield & Visitor Centre to experience the famous battle of the rising Jacobites in 1745 as portrayed in “The Outlander”. Visit Urquhart Castle, a dramatic medieval ruin on the shores of Loch Ness that played a key role in Scotland’s Wars of Independence and offers stunning views over the legendary loch. Proceed to Inverness.  B

Enjoy the day with the group at your leisure. Inverness is known as the gateway to the Highlands, blending history and natural beauty along the River Ness. You may decide to explore its historic streets, and stroll along the picturesque Ness Islands. Nearby, you could  venture to Loch Ness for a chance to spot Nessie or tour the ancient Clava Cairns, a prehistoric burial site nearby. See well-preserved stone cairns and standing stones dating back over 4,000 years. This mysterious site is thought to have astronomical alignments and may have inspired the time-travel stones in “Outlander”. You may opt to purchase a full day tour to the Isle of Skye. B

After breakfast, journey to Stirling. Visit Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most important strongholds that played a key role in the Wars of Independence, with figures like William Wallace and Robert the Bruce fighting for control. Its strategic location and grand Renaissance architecture made it a favored residence of Scottish kings and queens.  B, D

Travel to Edinburgh this morning. On the way, visit Midhope Castle (fictionally named “Lallybroch Castle”  in the Series.) Proceed to Edinburgh, sometimes called the “Athens of the North” by virtue of its rich cultural tradition.  B

This morning, join your guide for a walking tour of Edinburgh and Royal Mile. Holyrood Palace, official residence of the British monarch in Scotland, has been a royal home for centuries and was once the residence of Mary, Queen of Scots. Visitors can explore its grand state apartments, historic ruins of Holyrood Abbey, and beautiful gardens at the foot of Arthur’s Seat.  B

Visit Edinburgh Castle, where you can see the Crown Jewels of Scotland, the Great Hall and the enormous 15th century gun, Mons Meg. Visit St. Giles Cathedral, one of Scotland’s most important medieval parish church buildings.  B

Enjoy a free day to play golf or discover Edinburgh on your own. Edinburgh has a rare charm with narrow and cobbled passageways, called closes in Scots. You may decide to walk up Arthur’s Seat for panoramic city views, or stroll along the charming Dean Village. The National Museum of Scotland offers fascinating exhibits, while the Royal Botanic Garden provides a peaceful retreat. Perhaps consider an underground tour of the Real Mary King’s Close or a ghost tour through the city’s haunted history. You may wish to visit the famous Rosslyn Chapel, which gained popularity from the book/movie, The DaVinci Code.  B, D
